Matthias Mroß is a graduate of shipbuilding engineering from the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, Germany, and holds a diploma in ship management from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy in London. After graduating, he joined the Rickmers Shipping Company in Hamburg, where he supported the shipbuilding program at yards in Eastern Europe, Korea, and China. He also worked in a commercial and operations position for an extensive newbuildings program by a leading owner in the Isle of Man. At the Thomas Schulte Shipping Company, Matthias established the new building department in 2008, which combined all of his previous responsibilities. Today, Matthias has in-depth knowledge of all commercial, operational and technical aspects of vessels, particularly newbuildings, with close contacts to numerous stakeholders throughout the industry.
